Dashte Laleh Vajgoon

Iran is the birth place of world’s origin of inverted tulips known in Farsi as “Laleh Vajgoon”.

During the month of Ordibehesht – 2nd month of Persian Solar Calendar beginning on March 21 – which coincides April and May, in the spring season, a special species of tulip grows with inverted petals in Iranian mountains.

Its main habitat is Zagros Mountains.

The greatest of this flower is found in Kohrang of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.

The plant begins to grow in the plains of Iran from mid-Farvardin and is in full bloom by mid-Ordibehesht (early May).

Keeyow Lake is a natural lake in the northwest of Khorramabad in Lorestan Province, Iran.

The lake has a seven-hectare area and a depth of 3 to 7 meters.

It is the only natural city lake in Iran and is a habitat for native and migratory birds and aquatic animals.
